Dewey Readmore Books

Good morning! So I just had to post this morning about the best book that I have recently read. My Mom got me, Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched The World, for Christmas. I had not had a chance to read it since I got home from Christmas, but I picked it up last Thursday and finished it Friday night. It was fabulous and a must-read!!!

The story chronicles the life of Dewey, an abandoned kitten, left in the Spencer County Library (Spencer, Iowa) who flourishes as the library cat and touches the hearts of everyone he meets. It was the sweetest story of this amazing cat who loved all unconditionally for 19 years.

Here is the link to the book. I had to add this picture of Dewey that hangs in the library. How funny is that? It was such a great book, but I am partial as an avid animal lover. Thanks for the great gift Mom!!!

Dewey's picture hangs in the library after his death to remind all of his great life.

Updates..

Well I thought I would take a moment out of my day to make a post, since my posts here lately have been so far and few in between. The weather is finally starting to break, thank goodness!! It is supposed to hit the high 50's today and tomorrow it's supposed to be 65 degrees. I am so happy that I can go for a long run tonight after I take Miss Dixie for our walk.

I'm just staying busy with everything here lately, and I have been eating out way too much! I have gotten Chick-Fil-A so many times for lunch this week that I have lost count. Chick-Fil-A is definitely a deep south addiction. When I lived in Lexington, well we didn't even have one, so I never ate there. Now that I live down here though, all of my friends eat it and now I'm addicted to it. It's so delicious, but I have to stop eating so much of it. SERIOUSLY.

One of my best friends from high school, Holly, is getting married in February so I am headed back to Kentucky for that one weekend. I am very excited for her and I can't wait to see my grandmother. I always have so much fun staying with her, she is a hoot!

Freezing Temps

Whew! Let me just say that first off it is freezing down here. It has been in the low teens here in Atlanta this past week and it is just too cold. This is one of the reasons I would never move back to Kentucky, the weather there is just too cold. However, Miss Dixie is thoroughly loving the weather! Which is great because we have gotten some fabulous exercise time in, which is something she really hates to do!

I haven't made a post in quite a while because I have just been so busy and whenever I sit down to make a post, I can't decide what I want to write about. It's been so cold down here but this morning I decided to head up to the outlets (it's about an hour north of Atlanta) and check out some of my favorite stores. I ended up getting a great dress from BCBG and some other things. I was so upset though when I went in Harry and David to get my strawberry covered chocolates and I was informed that they have discontinued these. I about died, they are Mom's and my favorite, so I settled for some other candy.

So this is a very boring post, don't you think? Anyway, I will post pictures sometime this year! Have a great day!

Long Time Away

Well I just realized that it has been forever since I have made a post here. Since Dixie and I got back home to Atlanta from the holidays, I have been swamped. I don't think I have stopped yet! I just have been slammed at work, at home and busy with all my girlfriends. I don't have too much to blog about. Last night one of my girlfriends and I took our dogs to Piedmont Park which is a huge park in the middle of downtown. It's an oasis in the city. Dixie & Libby had a blast walking, but let me tell you it is freezing down here, the temperature is really starting to drop!

We all went to dinner last night at a burger joint that is fabulous & watched part of the Florida game. I also am going to give my blog a face uplift this morning. Let me know what you think! Have a great day! I promise to post pictures soon...
