Hold Off Gustav

So I am leaving to go to Destin this weekend with my girlfriends. There are seven of us going down to Florida. Three of the girls already left last night but the rest of us have to work today, so we are leaving this afternoon. Anyway, we are hoping that Gustav holds off & doesn't hit the Gulf before Monday. How awful would that be to have to evacuate? Everyone at work keeps asking me, "Are you all still really going?" To which I answer enthusiastically & with a laugh "Yes, we are because everything is paid for already!"

Only having been out of college for almost 2 years, money is always tight. I miss those days of college not having to worry about paying bills, work, or anything in the real world. Not to mention, my sweet girls (Lily, Daisy & Dixie) who sometimes get sick to which I immediately call my vet because I always think the worst! So yes, since the trip is paid for we are definitely going!

After Dixie & I took our long walk last night & she' s always looking for new doggie friends- mind you (she really misses Kona-black lab friend & Snarf-golden retriever fellow friend) since we have moved recently into a new place- I opened up the suitcase to begin packing. Immediately Dixie cocked her head as if to say, "Where are we going Mom?" and the cats immediately jumped into the suitcase. Dixie is staying at Wieuca (our animal hospital that we love!) & this is the first time she is not staying with a friend. She always goes with me on trips but this time she can't go. I know she'll be okay at Wieuca, but I do worry about her. I adopted her from Adopt A Golden Atlanta & I worry she'll think someone is abandoning her again, to which Mom says she will not think that at all! I just worry too much!

Had to Re-Create My Blog

So I have had so much trouble with my blog lately. I lost all my posts on Monday when I was trying to edit something & I have given up hope on the Blogger support team to help me get my old posts back. Then today, the layout template became unavailable as I was editing something in the HTML section, so I had to entirely re-create my blog. What a mess!

As you can imagine, it has been such a headache. So thanks for all the previous comments & help. I am not going to try to edit anything & anyway I am just starting fresh! It's just so annoying, oh well. So if you were not able to view my blog as of last week with all my old posts going back to April, then Welcome! I love to post since we live so far from home in Kentucky. I am going to Destin this weekend with my girlfriends, so I am so excited. I need a vacation!

Laziest Golden Retriever in America

So I think that I have the laziest golden retriever in America. Dixie & I went down to Chastain Park to walk tonight because the weather is just so nice. Due to the hurricanes, we have had so many storms & some much needed rain which has drastically cooled things off. Anyway, Dixie is now beginning to associate Chastain Park with her having to walk for an hour or more, so now when she realizes where she is, she immediately plops down in the back seat as if to say "I'm not getting out of the car!" Since she is such a "big" golden, she knows I can't physically get her out! This time though, she barked at me as if to say "I'm not going & you can't make me."

Anyway, she is such a coach potato but she does get her exercise, just not enough to suit me. I know everyone will enjoy this though because we all know how much I try to get her to exercise with me. As long as she's happy though, that is all that really matters!

I have to hit the books though now, just thought it was too funny not to post about Dixie's attitude toward Chastain though!
