Construction Everywhere

Well we had a great weekend this past weekend. Jeff had to work late on Friday since a huge project he's finishing up has come to a close and we ate at the best Mexican restaurant ever here in Atlanta. It was so delicious, I just love that place!

It was such a pretty weekend and I meant to take pictures of the Taco Ring I fixed Saturday night for dinner, but I just forgot and remembered only after it was gone, but it was fabulous. Sorry Mom!

Things have been busy lately and my car has been a mess lately. I blew out a tire on I-285 last week and thank you to Mercedes Benz, I didn't have to wait to very long to get it changed. And Jeff was a gem as always, taking me to the place and getting the tires that I owe him since I'm ever so broke. Thank you love!! Then to make matters worse, we had to go down to the Westin yesterday for work to finish some things up and on the way home last night I noticed a huge crack down the left side of my window. Lovely. Just. Lovely. I can't wait to call my insurance to see how much it will be to replace my entire front window.

And to add to the list of things to complain about, there is construction everywhere in our apartment complex right now. They started on the pool back at the end of May and it was out of commission for a couple weeks. Then they began renovating the roof and now they are working on the siding of the building. It is driving me crazy because there are Mexicans everywhere and I had to remove all my porch furniture. Plus, I've had to take down all my wall furnishings since the pounding could be detrimental.

There are nails and sidings everywhere so Dixie is staying with Jeff this week because I don't think she could get up and down the stairs with all this mess going on. Thank you again love! I wanted to post some pictures of Lily & Daisy though, as they are having a blast enjoying my white wicker patio furniture in the house. Hopefully it will all be complete ASAP!

Lily relaxing on my bed watching Daisy play beneath her. I have the hardest time taking pictures of Lily sometimes because she will run from the flash.

I had to take my oil down and put it in my closet so it wouldn't fall. I was just so excited to do that. You would think they could come down on our rent, but no of course not! :)

Red Top Mountain & the Pups

This past Saturday Jeff and I took the dogs up to Red Top Mountain, which is about 30 minutes north of Atlanta. Dixie and I had never been there before, but we loved it. We hiked one of the trails (imagine Dixie hiking, but she loved it) which eventually took us to a trail adjacent to the lake.

I was able to keep Dixie off leash and eventually we made our way down to the lake. Dryfus and Lady immediately jumped in and began swimming, but not Dixie. She slowly made her way in and Jeff even tried to push her in to swim, but she wasn't having any part of that! I think she often forgets that she's a dog...Dryfus and Lady had a blast in the water though. They are 14 years old and they are in great shape, so this was right up their alley. They are amazing to watch and have endless energy!

Jeff and I got in the water and it felt great. The weather has been in the 80's lately and it is so nice, because it's not scorching hot like Atlanta summers normally are. By the time we got home, we gave all three pups a bath. They were worn out and Dixie did not move from her spot the entire night. Thought I would post these pictures of the kids because they are so cute!

Jeff holding Dryfus up. He loves his Daddy! Anytime Jeff leaves Dryfus stands by the kitchen window and cries for Jeff. So sweet..

Dryfus and Lady swimming to Jeff. They kept swimming back and forth to the point that they had to be exhausted.

Dixie kept watching Lady swim and seemed so curious but much too scared to venture in on her own. If she would only swim, it would be such great exercise for her!

Jeff making his way into the water. I got in later, but I wanted to snap some pictures of Jeff and the three amigos swimming in the lake.

Ready for the Weekend

Whew! What a week it has been so far, I have been so busy this past week that I cannot wait for the weekend to be here and relax. Dixie has two hot spots (which it seems she gets every summer)unfortunately so she has had to sport her Elizabethean collar and she is not happy about this at all. Nor is she happy about the antibiotic spray! Jeff shaved her undercoat near her hind legs (where she has them) on Tuesday night though and I can already tell that the spots are clearing up.

I hate when she gets them though because the infections look and smell so awful, plus they are really painful for her. The stench is unbearable! She is going to get a summer cut every summer from now on!

Just wanted to post some pictures of the girls, nothing too exciting but here are my girls....

Dixie is really losing weight & looking great! I need to get a shot of her from the side...

Daisy loves smelling my flowers...

Love my girls!

Back from St. Augustine

Jeff and I headed down to St. Augustine last Thursday for the 4th of July weekend and we just got back last night. The dogs were so tired on the trip home that we only stopped twice for gas. Lady, Dixie and Dryfus slept the entire trip home. I have never seen the three so tired!

Jeff's entire family always gets together on the 4th of July, so it is a family tradition. We had a great time & got lots and lots of sun! There were 17 people and 6 canines in one house and Miss Dixie loved every bit of it. She kept trying to get into the pool but never would take the plunge nor would she get in the lake.

The food was fabulous and I think I gained about 5 pounds on the trip because I snacked throughout the entire day pretty much everyday, but I don't ever do that, so it was a treat! I got to spend lots of quality time with Jeff's family and I really liked his sister-in-law, Kim. She was so sweet & I am excited for our Keys trip which is coming up so I will be able to spend more time with them.

I didn't take too many pictures on the trip because we were always at the beach or doing something, but here are some pictures from the trip.....

Beautiful flowers Jeff got me for our anniversary...Love him!

Lily was so happy last night that she literally ran outside on the porch after I got home.

Meg watching the water from the boat. Meg is Jeff's brother and sister-in-law's family dog. She was so pretty & a sweetheart! She was a red golden with the most soulful eyes I have ever seen in a dog..

Jeff and I on the boat...We went down the intercoastal which was so beautiful and amazing to say the least!

Hunter driving the boat and Scott giving him pointers.

Dryfus on the 4th of July with all his gear in tact. I just had to take a picture of this because it was too funny!

Alexis, Hunter & Baylee (Hunter & Baylee are Jeff's neice and nephew)

Love and Dixie....

Meg and Dixie. Sandy (Jeff's mom) got all the dogs 4th of July bandanas that were adorable so I was trying to get a picture of Meg & Dixie in their bandanas, but that attempt failed as you can see.

Dryfus snoozing on Dixie's lap...
