Running with Rover

Running with Rover

Running with Rover by gawhitfields featuring a yoga activewear

Rover and I love to run and we run long miles about 3-4 times a week. I got my happy little package in the mail from Road ID today where I ordered my Road ID and Charlee's Scout ID. Because he clearly needed it!

These are some of my staples that I run with.

1///Victoria Secret wristlet.
This handy little wristlet keeps my keys tucked in safely so I don't have to carry them and I have more use of my hand to hold rover's leash because when he sees squirrels all bets are off.

2///Nike Running Shorts
I've had Nike shorts for as long as I can remember which I guess is college because in high school I always had on our cheerleading soft shorts. They are super light and if you get wet, they dry quickly and there's a panty lining which is even better so you can go sans panties.

3///Road ID
The Road ID is imperative if you're a runner or even cyclist. It has all your personal information listed on it in case you where to be in an accident or something else happened. You don't want to end up John Doe at the hospital.

4///Tanks
I love tank tops and I especially loose fitting ones to run in over my sports bras. I buy most of mine from Target and the last ones I bought here in Coral Gables at the university bookstore. They are GREAT!

5///VS Incredible Sports Bra
I love Victoria Secret and have for years. I have their credit card and receive their magazine. And they have a new line of sports gear with the Incredible sports bra being my favorite. The price is a little steep but they are sharp and hold great support.

6////A strong leash!
Rover pulls and I used to run with his retractable leash but I recently changed that over to a good ole fashioned leash.

Hello 2014!!!

Hey sweet friends! It's 2014...and with that comes a wonderful new year! I promise to do a catch up soon with Christmas, my birthday and everything else but this has been on my heart lately and every morning when I do my daily devotional.

I don't know if it's because so many close calls have happened within the past month between running with my sweet Rover (aka...Charlee B) and being nearly run over by a car. Alas, I'm reminded and maybe God keeps reminding me that our time...my time on Earth is short. And this year, I want to make sure that I'm making the most of everyday.

1 Peter 1:24-25

New International Version (NIV)
24 For,
“All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”

I love the finer things in life... my Mercedes, Lilly Pulitzer, my Torch Burch bags and shoes, but life is about SO much more than that. Life is about Christ and the gospel which changes
lives. And God has so changed my life from the time I started following him in college until now. He's been with me in the darkest waters and He guides my daily steps. One thing He's taught me that life is not all about me, it's about following Christ. And Christ came to redeem this broken world. Everywhere we look in this world, the world is decaying and people are broken, lives are destroyed and we're constantly trying to fill the emptiness.

He's never forsaken me and in the past month, I've realized how close His heavenly angels are to me daily.

Billy Graham is my very favorite evangelist. His books and his messages are simply timeless. If you didn't see My Hope, watch this video. And maybe I sound like a Bible beater but I just feel led to write this. It's my blog and for that reason, I want this to remind me how short my days are.
